Veganuary tips from GSC
It's 2023 and the team at GSC, like everyone else, are trying to be good so we’ve pulled together a few pointers to get you through Veganuary, so you can still enjoy your daily cups of Gordon St Coffee!
#1: Choose a plant-based milk. Instead of using dairy milk in your coffee, opt for a plant-based alternative like coconut, soy, or oat milk. These options are dairy-free and provide a creamy texture and rich flavour to your coffee. Gordon St Coffee offers a range of plant-based milk options for your coffee!
#2 Avoid flavour syrups and additives. Many flavoured syrups and additives used in coffee drinks contain dairy or other animal-derived ingredients, so be sure to check the label or ask your Gordon St barista if you're unsure. Stick with simple, natural flavourings like vanilla extract or cinnamon.
#3 Opt for black coffee. If you're trying to reduce your intake of added sugars and calories, sticking with black coffee is a great option. It's also an easy way to ensure that your coffee is vegan-friendly. Gordon St Coffee offers a range of freshly roasted single origin and blended coffee beans that are perfect for brewing a cup of black coffee at home or in the office. In our roasteries we regularly change our filter coffee so just ask the baristas for the roast of the day.
#4 If you’ve not done so already visit Gordon St Coffee, (some shameless self promotion😉). Many coffee shops and cafes now offer vegan options, and Gordon St Coffee has always catered to our vegan customers. Our roasteries in Glasgow and Edinburgh have a range of vegan-friendly cakes, snack and obviously the coffee is fantastic, and freshly roasted.
In conclusion, enjoying coffee during Veganuary is possible by choosing plant-based milk, avoiding flavour syrups and additives, opting for black coffee, and visiting the GSC roasteries.
